FIMMVORDUHALS HIKING

The Fimmvorduhals Hiking trail will take you between two glaciers and volcanoes. The trail will take you in the middle of the famous Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glacier volcanoes. Fimmvorduahls covers the area that lies between Thorsmork and Skogar and is one of the most hiked trails in Iceland. Many people complete this hike as an extension of the Laugavegur hike which ends at Thorsmork. Thorsmork is the valley of the Norse god of thunder, Thor. Although, there are some hikers on the trail of Laugavegur who chose not to travel on the Fimmvorduhals because it is much more challenging than the prior one that they have just finished. This makes Fimmvorduhals a popular but challenging and slightly less traveled route in comparison to the Laugavegur route rendering it more exciting and mystical.
